In 2020, I signed up to Volunteer for Girlguiding. 2 ½ years later, I am loving being part of my local Rainbows unit. I’ve learnt so much about myself, but it’s such a rewarding role to be involved in. 🌈
In March 2023 for International Women’s Day, I made a video on YouTube sharing a look into my journey and experience with Girlguiding so far. As I reached my big goal of 100K subscribers a few week before, I wanted to use my platform to educate or inspire others to consider volunteering. I share my personal childhood experience, collecting badges, what a unit meeting is like, what my role is like and my vision for the future.
Girlguiding has taught me so much (both then and now), and I love giving back and being part of a team.
Girlguiding exists to help girls and young women find their voice, and build skills and confidence – inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and empowering them to make a positive difference in their community. Through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure we empower girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community.
Girlguiding
More than 300,000 girls meet as Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers. We fire their imaginations through challenges and adventures for all personalities and abilities, from 4 to 18 years old. We strive to put on unit meetings where the girls make friends, learn new things and have fun! ☺️
Now, my goal and vision is to help inspire more people to volunteer, more parents to enrol their children and debunk myths around Girlguiding. I want to spread messages about what incredible work their doing, campaigns which align with my own vision, and my continued journey within Girlguiding. I am a very proud Ambassador for Girlguiding South West England, where I continue to spread the word about what an incredible organisation they are.
